seaway 50th anniversary

Share a Storyshare a story

Since the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway in 1959, the waterway has played a significant role in the lives of people living in the vicinity or working with the Seaway.

To commemorate the 50th Anniversary, the two Seaway Corporations (Canada, USA) invite you to share your personal stories. Whether you lived along the Seaway, were moved due to the flooding of the St. Lawrence River, remember the Queen’s visit in 1959, or worked on a lock or a ship - we want to hear from you! To share your story just click on the icon.

The Corporations reserve the right to post extracts of the stories shared. The stories will be posted in the language and by date in which they were submitted. Click here to see the stories submitted in French.
